A partnership with the Iraqi Soccer Project. A concerted effort has existed to rebuild the educational opportunities for the children of Iraq, but there has been little progress in the rebuilding of youth soccer leagues since Uday Hussein's disastrous rule over the nation's recreational programs. In areas of conflict in Iraq, the lack of organised activities after school creates an opportunity for the recruitment of children by extremists groups.
Just ahead of Qatar hosting the region's first World Cup in 2022, a unique opportunity exists to further utilise the enjoyment of soccer as a teaching tool to life's bigger lessons. Starting with the distribution of balls, necessary to enjoy the world's game, we can begin to reestablish the type of organised community involvement that bonds all Iraqi's regardless of background and belief.
